2. 2017 fourth overall pick

(Trade Value: A)

While this hasn’t been discussed a whole lot just yet, the fourth overall pick is an extremely valuable trade chip should Ryan McDonough want to flip it for either additional draft assets, or an already established player. Although the team drafting fourth in June won’t be able to acquire the services of either Markelle Fultz or Lonzo Ball, there is a chance that Josh Jackson could still be available, as well as De’Aaron Fox, Jayson Tatum, and Johnathan Issacs, all names that could rank in the top two if Fultz or Ball weren’t there.

McDonough is certainly fielding calls for that pick as teams with interest in some of those aforementioned players look to find a way to move up close enough to the top to draft them. McDonough is also most likely making a couple of calls as well seeking out the potential availability of young, established stars who he might be had with this pick involved in the trade. We discuss all the time here the interest in Kristaps Porzingis, and in calls that McDonough has made in an effort to seek his availability (as well as others), that fourth pick is most certainly brought up.
