There was chatter last season that Barbosa could be flipped for first round value. That now seems entirely unlikely, and probably pure poppycock. If he is not waved before July 3rd, then he will have a $4M contract next season. He is probably no longer the kind of player that is moveable except for an extreme circumstance where the Suns acquire a star player with a large contract and Barbosa’s deal is needed to make salaries match, but even if ‘The Blur’ is kept on the roster next season, teams looking for veteran depth would offer nothing more than a second round pick for him, and even that pick might be protected.
