Phoenix receives: Amir Johnson, Marcus Smart, #1 pick

Boston receives: Eric Bledsoe, Alex Len, #4 pick

This first one is fairly simple. It has been speculated for a while now that last year’s starting point guard for the Phoenix Suns would be in trade talks this offseason. If Boston is going to trade their pick, they are going to want something valuable in return, and Bledsoe, at 27, has room to improve and become a formidable guard in this league.

This trade is favorable for both teams. Phoenix gets some extra help in the four spot from Amir Johnson, the veteran forward who has been an important part of Boston’s rotation all season, and Marcus Smart, who could be a good starting point guard for Phoenix, especially with Tyler Ulis backing him up. Boston receives Bledsoe, a point guard who, in some ways, would be an improvement from Isaiah Thomas, and the young seven-footer Alex Len, who would provide for the glaring hole Boston has in its frontcourt. However, this trade may not be quite as enticing as one involving a bonafide NBA superstar.
