The 76ers want Monk. I just don’t know if they’ll want to take him this high. If they’re smart, they’ll probably haggle with Phoenix, Sacramento, and Orlando to see who wants to swap spots for the rights to pick Jackson or Tatum knowing that Monk will fall to them further down. If those three teams are unwilling to pay the ransom, than I think Philly reaches for Monk anyways. They’re loaded at center and power forward. There’s no reason to take Tatum or Jackson to backup Simmons. The choice should come down to Monk or Fox and Fox can’t shoot a jumper well enough to provide spacing for Simmons. No problem for Monk who is the best shooter in this draft and will thrive catching passes from Saric, Simmons, and Embiid. That Knight trade isn’t going to look as bad for the Suns when the 76ers make the playoffs next year.
