Consistently Make the Playoffs

The Suns have not made the playoffs since the 2009-10 season. They probably won’t make the playoffs next year either, and possibly not even the year after that. But the Suns are set up for deep playoff runs year after year once their core matures a little. If the team hits on this year’s draft pick, and that player turns into the star that many scouts believe the first few picks could become, the franchise will have multiple cornerstone pieces to build around, all coming into their prime at the same time. It’s a similar situation the Oklahoma City Thunder had with Durant, Westbrook, and Harden several years back.

The Run N’ Gun Suns of the mid 2000’s was quite possibly the most fun I’ve ever had watching basketball, both as a fan of the Suns and basketball in general. They were not only in the playoffs every year, they were competitive  in the playoffs every year. We all thought that one of those teams was going to make the Finals. Booker needs to bring Phoenix back to that level. They may not be as exciting as Mike D’Antoni’s teams were, but playoff basketball is sorely missed in this city, and bringing a consistent winning product to the court will go a long way to raising Devin to Suns’ great status.
