Make Multiple All-Star Teams
There have been plenty of All-Star players for the Suns over the years, and not all of them are even members of the Ring of Honor. Steve Nash made the team six times. Amare Stoudemire and Walter Davis, two other Ring of Honor member, made it five times. Booker, so far, has not made any. This is partly due to his numbers not being quite good enough yet, but also because the Western Conference is absolutely loaded with All-Star caliber guards. Seemingly every team has at least one player you could have made a case for them being an All-Star, and the Warriors of course ended up with four players that were given the honor this past season.
Booker could easily make between three to six All-Star games over his career, and that’s on the low end if he doesn’t develop into the next coming of Kobe Bryant. And while their similarities denote the possibility, it’s not very probable, and certainly not something to expect of Devin. However, if he can increase his scoring to around 24 or 25 PPG, as was predicted of him way too early this offseason, improve his defense to even an average level, and get closer to five rebounds and assists every game, he should be a shoo-in as a perennial All-Star for the Suns.
Making All-Star teams doesn’t automatically make players great by any stretch of the imagination. However, it would prove that Booker would be widely liked and respected around the league, something the Suns haven’t had in a player since Nash and the 7 Seconds or Less teams already more than a decade ago.
