Bring a Championship to the Desert
Despite having one of the better winning percentages of all NBA teams, the Phoenix Suns are still searching for their first title. They’ve been close twice, and had several other prime opportunities ripped from their grasp. But at the end of the day, the Suns don’t have an NBA Championship.
If this current Suns management builds their core around Booker correctly, the Suns may have a legitimate shot at a title in the next five years or so. By that time, if Devin continues to improve, he could quite possibly be one of the top five to ten players in the league, and depending on who the Suns draft this year and how that player turns out, they may have at least one other superstar paired with him. With the LeBron’s, Curry’s, Westbrook’s, and Durant’s of the league either retired or past their prime, a new wave of NBA superstars will take control of the league. Devin Booker projects to be one of those players.
If Devin Booker brings this franchise their first championship, he will already have done what no one else has been able to do yet for this team. However, I feel he would have to have accomplished more than that to be considered the best player the Suns have ever had.
