The 76ers Get Two Top-4 Picks

The 76ers receive the Lakers’ pick this year, if the Lakers fall out of the top-3. While this is already a bitter subject for the Suns – seeing as they traded this pick to Philadelphia in the Brandon Knight trade – the situation could be far worse. If the 76ers somehow moved into the top-3 with their own pick and got the Lakers’ pick at four as well, the 76ers would be in an even better position for 2020 than the Suns. God forbid the 76ers move into the first or second pick and get either Ball or Fultz to add to the mix of Simmons, Embiid, Saric, Okafor and co. The 76ers are already poised to be deep playoff contenders in several years as it is, that would undoubtedly make them Eastern Conference contenders for the next decade.

They’re going to be adding at least one solid talent this year with their pick, no matter where it falls. But to add the Lakers’ pick as well, and get a top-3 pick on top of that… The 76ers will be good for what could be a decade if this scenario happens. Thankfully they are in the Eastern Conference, but in a dream scenario the Suns could end up facing them in some NBA Finals series down the line. This certainly isn’t the worst thing that could happen to Phoenix, but it wouldn’t be great either.
