Trade Proposal #3 – Give me the Latvian Unicorn I need

Yes, the Suns are giving up a lot, but Kristaps is a once in a generation talent. We could have him locked up after his deal expires easily because Porzingis would become a restricted free agent and restricted free agents often do not accept the qualifying offer to become an unrestricted free agent after their 5th year in the league. Despite all the upside that Bender and Chriss have, they have not yet shown to be franchise players and the NBA will find a way to screw the Suns in the lottery in some way, so this prevents us from being sad that they dropped from 2 to 4 or 5.

The Knicks benefit from getting receiving three lottery picks in one trade who have large amounts of upside. The Knicks can begin their rebuild with Bender, Chriss, and the lottery pick, and with the chance that they can be bad enough to get another top-three draft pick in 2018.
