Price is the team’s only unrestricted free agent and is unlikely to be retained by the Suns, at least right away. Regardless of whether or not the Suns draft a point guard in the first round, they will have a starter, and with the emergence of Tyler Ulis, a solid backup. Leandro Barbosa too is under contract for one more season and will serve as the third point off the bench, capable of extended minutes should there be an injury to one of the two players above him.

With knowledge of the system and familiarity with the team, Price could still return at some point in the season if he is not signed elsewhere, as happened in 2016-17, although likely only in an emergency situation.
