Tyler Ulis

3.1 points, 0.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 9 minutes per game

Tyler Ulis has become the newest member of the Suns to become victim to the point guard, logjam, death spiral. With Knight and Barbosa taking up significant backup minutes, Ulis is often the odd man out. Outside of the logjam, the biggest aspect that might be hindering his playing time is his frame. He is listed at 5’10” 150 lbs which is a huge problem when playing bigger guards.

Unlike Alan Williams in his limited minutes, Ulis does not perform quite as well. His most playing time came in a stretch of games in November where he averaged about 16 minutes over the course of five games. Ulis did not show case himself like he would had hoped, posting only about 5 points and 2 points per contest. His best game came in a blowout loss to the Houston Rockets on February 11, when he scored 13 points and racked up 6 assists in 28 minutes.

It is incredibly difficult to judge a player when they play such limited minutes. So take this judgement with a grain of salt. Ulis has shown potential in his short bursts on the court. There is always the possibility that the rest of the season (especially if a guard ahead of him is traded) he will be given more playing time to grow.
