Phoenix Suns Mid-Season Grades Part 1/2
By Lucas McLean
T.J. Warren
12.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.2 steals, 29 minutes per game
After two years of injury plagued basketball early on it looked as though Warren was finally pulling it all together. He started off the season strong, averaging about 20 points while playing well over 30 minutes a game. Then, during the 13th game of the season against the Pacers, Warren received a concussion that has had a significant effect on his play.
Since returning his play has been inconsistent at best. Some nights, like January 2, against the Los Angeles Clippers, he scored 24 points on 60% shooting and looked terrific. But then other nights, like January 28, against the Denver nuggets, he scored 6 points while committing 5 fouls in only19 minutes and looked completely lost.
Warren is a complete scoring machine and has been since his freshman year of college. The biggest issue has been his health. Hopefully Warren can regain his health and consistency in the second half of the season, although as of right now Warren has only played well in bout one quarter of his games so far this season.
