4. One player on the team you want to play more?
Gavin Schall: I’ll let everyone else rave about the Devin Booker injustice, give me more T.J. Warren! He’s nearly averaging 19-6 per 36 minutes and shooting 50% from the field. I get that Tucker’s a better fit with the starters, but eventually talent has to win out.
Scott Chasen: Right now T.J. Warren is averaging about 21 minutes per game. I wouldn’t mind seeing that upped to 25 or so. Obviously I think it’s important to get Devin Booker more minutes, and I feel like that might be the popular answer here, but I really think the Suns can run with some interesting lineups with Warren in the game. And kind of as a random note: I’d like to see him play both small ball four and shooting guard in the same game. I really want to see Hornacek flex his creative muscles with how he uses Warren, who is very much an uncommon player.
Tyler Strachan: We keep hearing Hornacek rave about Devin Booker’s maturity and how he thinks the rookie can come in and contribute right away, but we aren’t seeing that when things get real at gametime. I know he had the ankle sprain, and if that’s still bothering him, then he should continue to sit. But in the few minutes he’s picked up, (whether garbage time or not.), he’s attacked the rim, been aggressive and shown that he isn’t flustered by the fact that he’s playing in the NBA, and has only been of age to vote for a little over a year. The Sun’s rotation doesn’t come equipped with a traditional three-point sniper, but I think Booker could be that guy with increased playing time.
Troy Tauscher: DEVIN BOOKER. I know he bit on a Marco Belinelli pump fake and he’s young and whatever, but the Suns need more scoring. He can provide that, even with the little experience he has.
Mark Harris: Devin Booker. I know that the Suns’ bench is deep, but Booker has to play more. Whenever he’s come in it’s been exciting and I think everyone wants to see this kid play more.
