3. Should Jeff Hornacek cut Markieff Morris minutes?

Gavin Schall: No. Aesthetically it’s been ugly, Morris has subsided on a steady diet of contested midrange jumpers and other ugly variations of iso ball. A recipe for his less than sublime 36.8% shooting mark, just about 8% lower than his career average. Yet the bigger picture numbers bear out a similar story with Morris ranking in the top 75 in the league in plus/minus and a part of a starting lineup that ranks as the league’s fourth best amongst groups that have played at least 75 minutes (before Morris got hurt).

Until those statistics prove themselves to be the product of small sample size, I say keep the ugly shots coming (but for real stop taking them Keff!).

Scott Chasen:  Not yet. Markieff Morris has been good in the past, and odds are he didn’t just forget how to play. You have to give him some time.

Tyler Strachan: What do we know about Markieff Morris? He takes a decent amount of low percentage shots on offense, and he’s not the best defender in the world. When those tough shots aren’t falling, like they haven’t been to start this season, he hurts this team by playing starter minutes. But, the 20-point outing against Detroit was promising, and I think Hornacek’s best option is to leave him out there and hope he finds his stroke.

Troy Tauscher: I think so because Jon Leuer is honestly playing better in every way. I think Hornacek should trim his minutes a bit until he finds the ability to make a shot again.

Mark Harris: No, because even though Markieff Morris’ shooting percentage hasn’t been that great, he still ends up scoring at least 15 points a game. Let Morris get more game reps and see what he can do from there.
