Jon Leuer, F, 26 years old

Initial thoughts:

Leuer fits the bill of a stretch-four who can put the ball on the ground and finish at the rim, while also knocking down a fair amount of spot-up shot attempts.

Areas of Strength:

Leuer is versatile and does a lot of different things well. He can knock down three-point attempts at a respectable rate, rebound and just flat out score the basketball in various different ways. In 16.6 minutes a night, Leuer has averaged 7.0 points per game on 50 percent shooting, while also adding 5.8 rebounds. Additionally, he has converted on 56 percent of his three point attempts.

Areas of Weakness:

Leuer has stepped up huge for this team and has arguably been the team’s most valuable role player. At this point, he has embraced his role and has outperformed his modest expectations.

Moving Forward:

Leuer will need to continue to make the most of his opportunities and emphasize efficiency when he is on the floor.

So far, so good.

Overall Grade:

B – He isn’t going to blow you away with any aspect of his game, but he does everything well and will continue to be a valued piece of the Suns bench.
