Mirza Teletović, F, 30 years old

Initial thoughts:

Having spent the last three years with the Brooklyn Nets, Teletovic comes to the Suns at the age of 30 with just three years of NBA experience under his belt. However, his presence can’t be accurately displayed through any statistic.

Areas of Strength:

Having lived through the Bosnian War in the 1990’s, Teletovic brings a unique approach and an appreciation to the game that younger guys can learn from. If anything Teletovic’s influence on the locker room could prove to revitalize the team’s passion towards basketball should the season get rough at any given time.

Areas of Weakness:

The play just hasn’t been there; Teletovic has played in all five games this season averaging seven minutes per contest. In those seven minutes, Teletovic has only averaged 1.6 points and 1.4 rebounds, way down from his 8.5 points and 4.2 rebounds a night last season with the Nets.

Moving Forward:

Teletovic needs to right the ship in terms of his play, no matter what he brings to the locker room, he isn’t going to stick around if he can’t be relied on when his number is called.

Overall Grade:

C- -Teletovic’s perspective isn’t something teams can come across every day, however, the production needs to come way up if he is going to have a role on this team.
