4. Crash The Boards

The biggest complaint about Markieff Morris’ game has either been his three-point efficiency or his underwhelming rebounding numbers, depending on who you ask. As a 6’10” power forward, Keef’s career high 6.2 rebounds per game last season ranked 21st among forwards who started in at least 60 games, per NBA.com. That’s obviously not going to cut it.

With the addition of Tyson Chandler, the move of Alex Len to the second unit and a stellar rebounder like P.J. Tucker at the 3, Keef doesn’t necessarily need to be a beast on the boards. Chandler averaged 11.5 rebounds per game last season, Len is only going to improve as he learns to harness his seven-foot physique and Tucker actually averaged more rebounds per game last year than Keef did.

But if the goal here is to win back the fan support, addressing this blatant area for improvement is a good way to start. Even improving to around 7-8 rebounds per game would to the trick. Morris doesn’t need to turn into a double-double machine, and he probably won’t be playing alongside Chandler. But showing some extra dedication on the glass will go a long way in winning over the fans again.
