4. J-Rich And The Suns Drop 22 Three-Pointers On The Lakers
To finish the 2009-10 season, the Suns lost a bitter conference finals series against their Pacific Division rival on their home floor. Near the start of the 2010-11 season, the Suns were once again defeated by the Lakers at home. But when Phoenix traveled to Los Angeles for their second chance at WCFs revenge, they got it with a particularly memorable performance.
In a 121-116 win at Staples Center on Nov. 14, 2010, the Suns dropped 22 three-pointers on the Lakers — at the time, the second-most three-pointers in NBA history by a team in a single game. Phoenix shot an absurd 55 percent from downtown, with seven of their 22 threes coming from Jason Richardson himself.
This performance didn’t heal the wounds from that missed boxout, but Richardson’s 35 points (13-of-20 shooting, 7-of-10 from deep), eight rebounds, three assists and three steals were an impressive peace offering nonetheless.
