The Mirza, The Merrier

By signing Mirza Teletovic to a one-year, $5.5 million deal, McDonough snagged himself another low-cost steal this offseason.

As one of the few bright spots for the Brooklyn Nets over the past two seasons, Teletovic averaged 8.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in 2014-15. Unfortunately, he only played in 40 games and was ruled out for the remainder of the season in January due to blood clots in his lungs.

However, Teletovic is expected to make a full recovery and as a guy who has said he would die for this sport, doubt him at your own risk.

Teletovic has been a 36 percent three-point shooter in his three NBA seasons, including a career high 39 percent in 2013-14 when he averaged 8.6 points per game. As a 6’8″ power forward, Teletovic provides frontcourt depth at a position of need for the Suns, especially if Markieff Morris is dealt down the road.

Teletovic will be a great fit on a team that could use his perimeter shooting to spread the floor with Tyson Chandler and Alex Len manning the paint.

At 29 years old, Teletovic probably doesn’t have much room to improve. But his versatility as a do-it-all guy makes him a great addition to any team. He’s a valuable sharpshooter who will bolster Phoenix’s depth and help them retain their status as contenders for one of the West’s final playoff spots.
