After Phoenix Suns fans had their hearts ripped out this past weekend by the San Antonio Spurs for what feels like the 1,000th time, this column has been a long time coming. In fact, a few days were needed for the dust to settle and the impact of LaMarcus Aldridge‘s devastating decision to become clear.

Ok, so maybe I was also in Las Vegas for the one vacation I’m afforded every year, but you get the point. The feeling of depression wasn’t going anywhere with an underwhelming group of free agents remaining and NBA Summer League still a few days away, so a few extra days of reflection never hurt.

So now that the Suns have had a few days to soak in the ever-familiar feeling of losing out on greatness because of those darned Spurs, what is Phoenix left with?

As the shellshocked feeling finally starts to wear off, it’s time to take a look at life after LaMarcus for the Phoenix Suns.
