Weaknesses

For all his ability on defense, Holmes still needs to learn to stay planted on opponents’ shot fakes as he has an ability to rise up quickly on first instinct.

He also needs to learn to be more aggressive on the offensive end as quite a few of his shots come from the perimeter. While NBA teams value big men that can stretch the floor and create space for their guards to penetrate, Holmes should be taking and making much closer looks at the basket.

Utilizing his skill of offensive rebounding, the big man has a great chance for tip-ins and second chance opportunities if he isn’t able to score on his first shot in the paint. He runs well in transition but will likely need to become a bit faster and trim down on his weight if he is hoping to stay versatile and play both the 3 and 4 in the NBA.
