Overview

As a freshman, D’Angelo Russell attended Central High School in Louisville, Kentucky before he transferred to the prestigious basketball powerhouse Montverde Academy in Florida. After a standout three years at Montverde and a nomination as a McDonald’s All-American, Russell committed to Ohio State.

The 6’4″ Kentucky native averaged 19.3 points and 5.0 assists per game in 35 games last year for the Buckeyes. He is ranked as the No. 1 point guard in the draft class and is projected to go as high as the second pick and no lower than the fourth pick.

Even that projection isn’t satisfactory for the guard however, as Russell went on record calling himself “the best player in the draft” at the NBA Draft Combine. One of the best point guard prospects in years and heavily regarded as the most sure-fire pick in the draft, Russell will have extremely high expectations wherever he goes.
