Larry Nance Jr., son of former Phoenix Suns great Larry Nance, projects to be a second round pick. Depending on who’s available, the Suns may opt to recreate some feelings of nostalgia by bringing another Nance to Phoenix at No. 44.

Averaging 16.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 51.4 percent from the floor in his senior season at Wymong, Nance is an elite finisher at the basket and a solid rebounder and shot blocker.

At 6’9″, this power forward lost a little bit of his explosiveness after tearing his ACL during his junior season, but McDonough said there’s still plenty of his father in him when it comes to rising up and finishing above the rim.

“I think for him the next step will be developing away from the basket, some of the ball handling skills, some of the perimeter skills,” McDonough said.

Nance said he’s trying to prove to teams that he can play the power forward spot at the next level, but also acknowledged that he’s been trying to improve the perimeter aspects of his game.

“Obviously I’m a 4 first, but I’m hoping that teams see that, ‘Hey, maybe in the future we can move him to 3s,'” he said. “I’ve been working on perimeter skills and mainly my jump shot, that’s what’s come around.”
