Jerian Grant: Phoenix Suns 2015 Draft Profile
Weaknesses
Unfortunately, there’s one major flaw in Grant’s game that could hold him back, especially when it comes to being drafted by a team that needs to improve its three-point shooting like the Suns. Grant shot a high percentage from the floor last season, but he only converted a subpar 31.6 percent of his looks from three-point range on 4.2 attempts per game.
For Grant to be able to play off the ball at the NBA level, he’ll need to be able to knock down open three-point looks. This First Team All-American said he’s trying to prove he can consistently knock down that shot at the next level, but he’s still got a long way to go in doing so.
Grant is praised for his unselfishness, but there are some plays where it feels like he’s being too unselfish. Grant will need to work on finishing in the paint and bringing solid defensive effort every time down the floor, but Grant really doesn’t have too many weaknesses other than his “older” age (he’ll turn 23 before the season starts), his three-point shot and his overly unselfish nature.
