10. Connie Hawkins

Technically speaking, Connie Hawks wasn’t a draft pick for the Suns. As an ABA champion and MVP in 1968, Hawkins was one of the NBA’s prized acquisitions in the late 60s. He was assigned to the Suns after the 1968-69 season, and although his time in Phoenix was limited to just over four seasons, it was still memorable.

The Hawk was an All-Star in all four of his full seasons with the Suns, he made the All-NBA First Team in 1970 and was by far one of the coolest dudes to ever wear the purple and orange. He averaged 20.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists during his time in Phoenix.

Hawkins had his jersey retired by the Suns and is a member of the Hall of Fame and the Suns Ring of Honor, so even though he wasn’t technically a draft pick, we’re going to bend the rules a little bit here.
