4. How do you see Brandon Knight meshing with Eric Bledsoe in the backcourt?

Bourguet: The Suns pretty much have everything riding on that, don’t they? You don’t get rid of two starting caliber point guards in a two-PG system if you’re not confident in what the new guy brings to the table. At 23 years old I’d like to think this Kentucky backcourt will grow and share its prime together. In that way, the Bledsoe-Knight pairing could wind up a better option than a Bledsoe-Dragic one. Then again, that depends on what it costs the Suns to keep Knight from becoming a rental this summer. From a basketball standpoint though, yes. It’ll just be a work in progress for a while.

Chasen: Really well. Knight just came out and said that he was happy to play alongside Bledsoe. The two-way potential for the backcourt is very real, and considering that the two are 23 and 25 years old, they should hit their primes at relatively similar times. Also, they both went to Kentucky, so there’s that.

Hann: With Knight and Bledsoe as the clear cut leaders and point guards on the team, they should mesh perfectly. Both are above-average defenders, great at penetrating to the basket and can really push the ball in transition. “Dynamic” is a good word to describe what should transpire over the next several years with these two leading the team.

Saar: Quite well. Both are fast and good on-ball defenders, which I particularly like. If you have that, your bigs can focus more on rebounding and staying out of foul trouble rather than having to stop guards barreling at the basket. It’ll be great to see how Knight’s three-point shooting will give Bledsoe driving lanes.

Schall: I think he’s a great fit. Lon Babby mentioned Friday that Bledsoe was thrilled with the idea when it was mentioned as a hypothetical before the deadline. Knight’s range shooting makes the line-up viable, and at practice Monday he suggested he has some degree of comfort off the ball. Knight, despite being a pretty good passer, is still like Bledsoe, a shoot-first guard. Though without Thomas on the team, the duo should have more than enough shots to keep them both happy
