2. Get Something For Him Now

Green may have likened his reduced minutes to a pimple, saying it’s ugly but only temporary until it’s popped, but I’m not so sure. Head coach Jeff Hornacek seems to be taking a different direction with this young team, and Green’s streaky influence is starting to fade.

If that’s the case, the Suns would be better off capitalizing on his trade value at its current peak. It’s nowhere near as high as last season, but three games of riding the bench isn’t enough to diminish his value for a team that could use some extra bench scoring. As frustrating as his shot selection can be at times, no one can deny his value as a three-point shooter, energy player and crowd electrifier off the bench since joining the Suns.

With Green’s role quickly fading, it won’t be long before his trade value starts to steadily plummet. Green could help a playoff team and he’s only making $3.5 million this season, pretty much a bargain deal for a high-quality gunner of his caliber. With the trade deadline two weeks from today, the time for moving Green is now.
