4. Goran Dragic Finding His Touch
Coming off an All-NBA season, Goran Dragic’s numbers were sure to go down with the arrival of Isaiah Thomas. But Gogi really struggled to adjust for awhile, averaging only 14.5 points and 3.4 assists per game on 47.2 percent shooting in November.
Since then, however, Dragic has turned back into the Dragon. In December, he turned his production up a notch to 20.0 points and 5.1 assists per game on 53.7 percent shooting. So far in January, though he’s struggled from downtown (28.6 percent), he’s still averaging 16.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game to go with 53.7 percent shooting.
It’s no secret the Suns need Dragic, both for this season and in the long-term, to be successful. His transformation back into the Dragon is just one of many signs that this “overcrowded” backcourt is starting to learn how to play together.
