10. Beating the Portland Trailblazers three times
This first (set of) moment(s) is sort of bittersweet because it should have been a clean sweep of this amazing Blazers team led by LaMarcus Aldridge and rising superstar Damian Lillard, who move on to the second round of the playoffs with a victory Wednesday against the higher-seeded Houston Rockets.
After beating them in the season opener, the Suns lost by one point following a goaltend by Portland’s Nicholas Batum that the refs missed.
The Suns really had the Blazers’ number all year beating them by 13, 14 and 16 points along with a heartbreaking loss by a single point. It’s good for morale to consistently beat a playoff caliber team throughout the year. By the way, most of these wins were when Portland was one of the top teams in the league the first few months of the season.
