Marcus Morris had a tough start to his time with the Suns. He was a deadline deal made last season but struggled and wasn’t seeing much time under Lindsey Hunter. However, this season, Marcus Morris has played admirably. He’s seen huge jumps in his three-point shooting, points, and rebounding. He’s one of the role players that are a huge reason for the SUns success.
While player like Dragic and Bledsoe get the credit, guys like Marcus have the ability to come off the bench and put up points from anywhere on the floor. That is really useful to an offense. When a driving Goran Dragic can dish to a guy like Marcus on the perimeter and trust him to hit the shot it adds a whole new dimension to an offense.
Marcus’ big problem is that he’s too slow to defend guys at the 3 but too small to defend them at the 4. That’s the nature of being a tween forward, and he just has to find a way to make it work. Other than that, you have to be impressed with how hard Marcus has worked to prove that doubters of his NBA career are wrong.
