Archie Goodwin, the 29th pick in 2013, has become a very underused player. The potential is there. There’s no question. However, he seems to be buried in the depth chart behind guards and other players who can hit shots from deep, something he can’t do. The Suns announced today that he would be spending some time in the D-League. This is probably for the best. Late in the Suns rout of the Pacers on Wednesday night, Archie Goodwin was the last to come in, and people took notice of how far that meant he had fallen in the depth chart.
I think Goodwin will ultimately turn out to have a prosperous career. He has excellent and natural aggressiveness on noth ends of the floor. He has a lot of work to do before he reaches his full potential though.
