2. Booker Dallas Game Winner v 7. Marquese Chriss Chasedown Block v Knicks in OT
2. Booker Dallas Game Winner
Why was this shot even reviewed? With a little over eight seconds remaining in regulation, Devin Booker took an inbounds pass with the sole intention of winning the game. From near halfcourt Booker watched the seconds tick away until about four were remaining, then made his move to the top of the key, spun around creating space, took a step back, relaeased the shot, and swish. Game Winner. He was colder than ice cold. Devin Booker dropped an icy dagger into the hearts of the hometown Dallas Mavericks fans sending and sent the Suns back to Phoenix with a victory.
7. Marquese Chriss Chasedown Block v Knicks in OT
Somewhere old-timey fans will see this block and say “Bill Russell would have kept it inbounds.” Maybe so. Who knows. But what is obvious is that in a close game, in overtime, between two teams desperate for the victory, Marquese Chriss’ emphatic block not only excited everyone in the arena – and Suns fans everywhere – but was an exclamation point on an exciting game that ended in a Phoenix victory. Justin Holiday had no idea what was coming when he went up for that layup attempt, but knew Chriss intimately well following that block.
