The 2016 NBA Draft has come and gone. Each team is now stocked with prosperous young talent, and GMs’ concentration has now turned towards free agency. For the Phoenix Suns, they still have a little work to do come July 1.

The NBA Draft gave Phoenix exactly what they needed. Two power forwards with loads of potential and a ceiling as high as they want it to be. Now it’s time to complete the rest of this squad before preseason begins. Even though the draft gave the Suns a lot of help, they still aren’t bouncing back from a 23-59 record with two rookie PF and a second-round guard.

Unlike the last ‘Rebuild’ there isn’t a need for players like Joakim Noah. With Marquese Chriss and Dragan Bender now on the roster, other areas may not be addressed besides the post game.

Although the Suns made up a lot of ground in the draft, they can still use one or two small pieces to complete their team for 2016-2017. Some of these moves may not generate the best fan reaction, but they will generate wins. It all depends on what the Suns’ future plan is. Will they stay young? Reach for the stars now? Or move on from players they expected more out of? All of these, ideas the Suns are looking at when heading into free agency.
