Bogdan Bogdanovic hits game-winner for Serbia

It’s national team exhibition season, and the Phoenix Suns’ draft-and-stash pick Bogdan Bogdanovic showed some onions by knocking down this game-winner in a revving up for his Serbian team against Croatia. A few notes on the above highlight video.

  • At the 30-second mark, it appears Bogdan is actually playing solid defense against Brooklyn Nets guard Bojan Bogdanovic (both are No. 7) and stops him from making an isolation jumper. Bojan, if you remember, left Fenerbahce Ulker for the NBA this summer, prompting the Turkish squad to sign Bogdan to a four-year deal with the team.
  • Bogdan ends up burning Bojan on the other end seconds later, initiating the offense and then curling around a screen. He pulls up a little bit off balance and with his feet hardly square, but it actually looks pretty comfortable. It’s at least a confident shot. Good for the Suns to see one of their prospects having the opportunity to grow in a big role with his national squad.
  • The go-ahead shot gave Serbia an 84-83 lead with 5.6 seconds left, and the arena immediately begins playing Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the USA” after Bogdanovic nails his triple. Good stuff.
