Suns set 2014 Las Vegas Summer League roster

The Phoenix Suns will have three players from each of the 2013 and 2014 draft classes representing them in the 2014 Las Vegas Summer League in July, The Arizona Republic’s Paul Coro reported on Tuesday.

T.J. Warren, Tyler Ennis and Alec Brown will represent the Summer Suns from last week’s NBA Draft, while 2013 draft members Alex Len, Archie Goodwin and Alex Oriakhi will fill in three more roster spots. Miles Plumlee will be the most experienced NBA player on the roster, and he’s joined by guard Dionte Christmas, who took part in last year’s Phoenix Summer League team and is on a non-guaranteed deal this NBA season.

Phoenix will also bring on former Duke guard Seth Curry, the brother of Warriors All-Star Stephen Curry who played for the D-League’s Santa Cruz Warriors this past season. The Suns have also invited former Gonzaga forward Elias Harris, his former college teammate David Stockton, the son of Jeff Hornacek’s longtime Utah Jazz teammate John Stockton, and North Dakota State rookie Taylor Braun.

The Suns’ Summer League roster should be a bit competitive, though it will be hard-pressed to compare it to last year’s roster that was led by well-seasoned NBA players like P.J. Tucker and the Morris twins.

Here’s a look at the Suns’ Las Vegas Summer League schedule

I assume the absence of Bogi means he is 100% not signing this season???

    • Kevin Zimmerman

They pretty much knew on draft night he wasn’t going to join them for a year or two. Think the only reason Brown is playing is because he isn’t already latched on to a European squad.

      • Rebel

Brown will probably play in the D-League. He would be called up in case of injury to either Plumlee or Len.

        • Kevin Zimmerman

I asked McDonough on draft night specifically about D-League and he said Brown was likely going to do Summer League and then likely go EuroLeague (though nothing was set in stone then). Is there any update on this I missed?

          • Rebel

I’m just guessing. I would hope he doesn’t stray too far if the suns are trying to manage with just Plumlee and Len.

we’re already developing archie at SG, no room for Bogdan this year.

Also, this team should win every game. Plumlee and Goodwin should have few equals, Len should perform like a #5 pick, Christmas can score,as can TJ, and Ennis is a quality pg. I see no reason they shouldn’t win 6 games.
