Marcus Morris: Find a comfort zone on defense

Marcus Morris has shown massive improvement after an ugly opening to his career as a Sun. This season, he’s been spending time at the small forward spot, and from an offensive standpoint, has been doing quite well.

One of his remaining issues isn’t really captured in a below-par stat. He struggles on defense. This isn’t really all his fault, though. He’s not quite as big as his brother, but still is a fairly big guy. Problem is, he’s been struggling to defend bigger, more physical opposition at the 4 spot. On the other side, he’s a little too big and not quite quick enough to defend guys at the 3.

It’s hard to develop a solution/ He can try to bulk up, or try to be quicker on-ball to deal with small forwards. Hopefully he can find an answer and keep his newfound leap going.
