Ish Smith:  Shoot the basketball better

Ish Smith has only played in garbage time since the duo of Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe returned to full health. He came in with a need to prove his worth to the Suns, and he still carries that today. He is a good passer and defender of smaller, quicker guards, but his outside shooting has been pretty dismal.

Smith is current shooting .327% from the floor and .111% from deep. He’s also shooting around 0.13% from shots further than eight feet away. That is…pretty bad. The modern point guard usually has to be able to shoot with some degree of competence to hold onto a role in the NBA. Smith’s poor shooting has cost him time in the Suns rotation, and if he wants to get time on the floor, he’s got to get his shooting stroke under control.
