Suns Versus Jazz, The Rematch: Keys to the Game & Predictions

With less than 24-hour turnaround, the Phoenix Suns and the Utah Jazz are going to “run it back” Saturday night for the second night in a row.

The Suns won the first matchup the first week of the season on a Bledsoe buzzer-beating three and won Friday’s game handily off a balanced team performance that coach Hornacek can be proud of in this young season. As the Suns are the tenth-best team in the league at about the 20 percent mark of the season, they are beginning to garner higher expectations. One of which would be to sweep the worst team in basketball, the 2-15 Utah Jazz.

However, the Jazz are a professional basketball team, so underestimating them would be a huge mistake. Any game, anything can happen. If you let your guard up for even one quarter during a game, even to an inferior opponent, you could find yourself blown out.

Key Matchup: Gordon Hayward versus P.J. Tucker. Neither player had a good game Friday, so look for both of them (especially Hayward) to be aggressive. Tucker was missing his corner shot Friday, but being on the home court could help that. Hayward scored 11 points in Utah, but I could see him scoring much more unless the Suns can key in on him on defense on Saturday.

Jazz Impact Player To Watch Out For: John Lucas III only scored six point Friday, but look for him to score in bunches off the bench, especially if Utah gets down big in this game.

Injury Update: Bledsoe will come off the bench again, according to the Suns’ Matt Petersen.

Prediction: Suns win big as they defeat Utah 113-96. Bledsoe leads the team in scoring to a 10-7 record.
