Review: Suns Unveil New Uniforms

The Suns unveiled their new uniform last night at the U.S Airways Center with players such as rookie Alex Len, and newly acquired Suns Eric Bledsoe serving as the models. The Suns unveiled three different types of jerseys, the home (In white), the road (In purple), and of course the alternate jerseys (In orange).

The jerseys have garnered mainly negative responses from the majority of fans including myself (And probably everyone else on the planet with good vision). One fan left this comment on the Suns Facebook photo in response to the new jerseys ” those look great! [Phoenix School for the Blind]” That comment was my personal favorite. Although there were a few other clever ones as well.

Let’s begin with the white home jerseys. What’s the phrase for die-hard Suns fans again? Bleed orange and pee purple? Well where in the world is the purple? That jersey is pretty much pure white. There are a few slight trims of orange but come on, an near all white home jersey with the team’s main color theme being orange? How interesting…

The road jerseys actually aren’t half bad. The Suns new road jersey was sported by P.J Tucker last night and I must say it doesn’t look that awful. However I can’t say I’m a fan of all the obscure lines streaming across the front of the jersey.

Finally there are the god awful alternate orange jerseys with the sleeves. Yikes! Call me crazy but those don’t look too different from the Las Vegas Summer League jerseys. Eric Bledsoe claims that those jerseys felt “Great” And that he “Loved” Them. That’s…Interesting…

Personally I think those jerseys are atrocious, and I’m highly disappointed in the fact that the Suns will no longer be sporting their old home uniforms which they wore during the Steve Nash era.

Quite frankly, the only jerseys that rivals ugliness of the Suns new jerseys are that of the Pittsburgh Steelers bumble bee jerseys. Okay just kidding, nothing will ever be as bad as those Steelers jerseys which vividly resembles one of my old Halloween costumes.

Someone in the Suns fashion department really dropped the ball this time…
