According to Luis Scola’s publicist in Argentina, Scola will soon be a Indiana Pacer.
Scola’s Publicist Juan Sebastia announced on Twitter that a trade which would send Scola to the Pacers will be officially announced on Saturday.
While many rumors state that Pacers’ gunner Danny Granger would be involved in the trade, those rumors are likely inaccurate. According to ESPN.com, the Suns will likely receive swingman Gerald Green and future draft considerations in-exchange for Scola; Scola may not be the only Suns player involved in the deal however only Scola is the only Suns player that’s been mentioned in the rumors.
Obviously the Pacers are attempting to strengthen their team as much as they can for the purpose of closing the gap between themselves and the eastern conference elites such as the Miami Heat, and the Chicago Bulls.
On the flip-side while the Pacers are trying to strengthen their team, the Suns are clearly attempting to secure more assets as well as opening up more playing time for their young forwards (IE. the Morris twins).
The Pacers have shown interest in Scola since his days in Houston, however since Scola was an amnesty claim last off-season he wasn’t eligible to be traded until this summer.
