Michael Beasley’s game against the Boston Celtics on Friday night raised a few concerns. He left after being pulled for third-string point guard Diante Garrett in the 113-88 loss, and he immediately headed to the locker room.
The video above gives us a humorous glance at Hunter’s likely frustrations with Beasley on Friday night. Things could be more serious, though.
At first, there was a concern that Beasley left the bench after a frustrating outing where he went 2-of-8 from the floor, including that airball, and turned the ball over twice. Later, it was determined that he had an elbow injury checked out.
Overall, the performance wasn’t a great sign that the Suns’ trade for Marcus Morris is helping push Beasley to fight for his minutes at small forward. Paul Coro, who deserves the hat-tip for tweeting the above video, notes that it’ll be mighty difficult to figure out how interim coach Lindsey Hunter will make rotations because of the glut of small forwards on the roster.
It’s worse news because Beasley, when not struggling with his confidence as an NBA player, has also dealt with several injuries over the course of his young career.
