Phoenix Suns After Iman Shumpert

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Phoenix Suns are attempting to make a deal for New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert.

According to the report, the Suns are willing to put together a package around Suns swimgman Jared Dudley and a future first-round draft choice but the Knicks have currently shown zero interest in such a deal.

Shumpert was drafted in the 2011 draft 17th overall by the Knicks, torn his ACL last season in a playoff game against the Miami and has finally made his return to the court last month. In Shumpert’s 11 games back in action, he’s averaging 5.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists on 34% shooting from the field and 43% from beyond the arc.

During the summer, reports were claiming that Shumpert would be involved in a sign-and-trade package which would send Steve Nash to New York in exchange for Shumpert and other assets. The Suns passed up on Shumpert in the 2011 draft taking Markieff Morris 13th overall.
