Former Phoenix Suns head coach Alvin Gentry isn’t a heavy tweeter, but he went to Twitter after he and the team parted ways, first to thank everyone for their support and then again on Sunday to ask how he should handle all the free time.

Gentry should fill time by going to church and thanking God he no longer has to be associated with this loser franchise. I simply can’t imagine why anyone would double down on the clown show the Suns have become.
Gentry should get a commentator job like JVG so he can make fun of the Suns FO when they make horrible decisions. I would pay extra to hear someone rip on Sarver, Babby and Blanks everytime the Suns were on a televised game. Go Suns.
BTW, I don’t normally watch Jude LaCava’s late night sports show, but wow … he tore into Sarver tonight.
What’s curious is that I’ve noticed people single Sarver and Babby out for criticism, but they don’t hardly ever mention the guy who is making the decisions recently: Blanks. Why is that? Is it because he never talks to the press?
I feel pretty certain it was Blanks, not Babby or Sarver, who picked Hunter. And it was most likely Blanks who pushed for Gentry to go, and who pushed for Nash and Hill to go earlier.
Given the fact that i just went from working from 5 am in the morning until 5 pm at night, if i was lucky, to now not being able to do anything (long story) i can empathize with Coach Gentrys “OMG im so booored” feeling
However i dont really know what to tell him
most coaches who really love coaching want to get back out there asap because thats what they love to do
If you dont want to do the coaching thing for a good while, i would suggest voluntering your time with a charity.
AFTER you get back from a long happy vacation of course 8)

Can’t wait to see what Hunter does as coach…..play all the young guys I say…..that should guarantee the Suns a top 4 pick.
Not even the Suns Front Office could bungle a top 4 pick…..could they ?
While I’m sure joining Mike D in La make the most sense for him in terms of fit and proximity to his current home where I think he has young kids in school, what about the Wizards job if it becomes open? They’ve got an interesting mix of young guys with actual upside and veterans and will likely still get a good lottery pick because of Wall’s extended absence. Wall isn’t Nash, but he does have some qualities that could potentially be molded into a SSOL type attack. It wouldn’t surprise me if he could get a group like that to overachieve with a classic Gentry ten man rotation. Alvin should try and get one of those temporary analyst gigs with ESPN so many fired coaches get and spend it analyzing potential landing spots as a head coach before accepting a fall back deal in LA.
Also did anyone notice the report that Turner has an in with the Bucks? Wouldn’t it be ironic if he ends up coaching the team that was the final nail in Gentry’s coffin and led to him bailing out? The Suns may not be good anymore, but they always seem to find a way to be involved in stories like this.

Gentry might be bored, but it was a good idea for him to get out.
I think a trip to LA is in order, to visit D’Antoni and Nash, and Del Negro and Hill.
