The Phoenix Suns recently added center Solomon Jones to their training camp roster which pushes their current roster count to 14. Jones spent last season playing on the Clippers and the Hornets averaging 3.2 points and 2.8 rebounds a game during the 2011-2012 campaign.
With Jones on the Suns roster heading into training camp they still have room to add more players although most of them will have a slim chance of making the Suns opening night roster because Alvin Gentry pretty much has his rotation set right now with his 13 man roster minus Jones. The Suns are likely to bring in a couple of their players from summer league, guys like Charles Garcia, and Marcus Landry.
Jones heading into training camp will be competing against Jermaine O’Neal for the back-up center position. It is unlikely Jones will make the opening night roster given that the Suns already have O’Neal, and Channing Frye to play back-up center.
