The Suns have won with the Warriors in their first meeting of the season. The Suns have also seen Marcin Gortat’s thumb return to action since then, while the Warriors got Steph Curry back. Now, can the Suns hold on against the Warriors youth much like they did against the Kings?

The key here is going to be exploiting the Warriors biggest weakness — Andris Biedrins. Biedrins is not exactly what his contract makes him out to be and since Kwame Brown (yes, he’s an important piece in an NBA team now) is injured, the Dubs are not going to get a lot of help from their bigs. If the Suns can go at Biedrins and force him to foul, the Suns will have a distinct advantage on the front-lines.

Speaking of foul trouble, the Warriors can go wild with their foul. Going at the other (and much more skilled) big — David Lee can get into foul trouble as well.  And with the Warriors below average (ranked 17th by MySynergySports) defence. Yes, I do call this a problem for everyone, that’s what happens when Steve Nash runs the play, but this is in “you can go at them all day” territory.

I think we know this is probably going to be a game of offence by now, and the Suns have to realize that they’ll be dealing with two very tough customers in Steph Curry and Monta Ellis. They both recorded season highs last week (Monta with a career high 48, Steph with 36). If either of these guys gets in a roll, and David Lee contributes his regular numbers (and mind you, Lee had a triple-double last week as well), the Dubs might kill the defensively incapable Suns.

Adam’s Suggestion:
Channing Frye? Still don’t trust him. Seems to be working so far.
