Let’s get this over quickly in terms of pure information:
Shannon Brown and Sebastian Telfair signed, Grant Hill resigned.
We can all breathe a sign of relief.
If you follow me on twitter (if you don’t, you should. I make a lot of by-notes there) you’d notice my initial “OH NONONONONO” upon hearing the Telfair and Brown news. However, as time went by, my OHNONONONO turned into an “ok”. First, these are one year contracts we’re talking here. Nothing that will hurt Phoenix in the long run. Secondly, both of these guys spent the last few seasons stuck in the triangle, as system that they’re not really friends with. Hopefully the run-n-gun will help them get going. The bench unit is pretty solid, with Markieff Morris joining it, and the competition in the guard positions (Dowdell and Pietrus will certainly motivate the Telfair-Brown tandem)
Hill’s resigning is a huge thing for Phoenix. This is what keeps the Suns in playoff contention.
Whatever the case, the very old kids are alright in Phoenix, and if CP3 trades keep failing, the Suns might just get enough wins to get a 6th-8th seed.
Either way, I must apologize for my silence. A lot of things were going on in my real life and I just couldn’t get anything done. This is a quick post, but by tomorrow you should get longer ones about Brown and Telfair, and the importance of Grant Hill.
