With Steve Nash on vacation and the party starting in Los Angeles for All-Star Weekend, we here at Sun-N-Gun hope you enjoy the festivities beginning with the celebrity game tonight on ESPN, followed by the Rookie-Sophomore Challenge. Try not to get too riveted by some of the greatest games that will ever be played! EVER!

The Gorilla will be the only Sun involved in All-Star Weekend. While Steve Nash probably warranted consideration, the team could use the rest – 10 of their last 28 games come against teams that are already 10-4 against the Suns on the year.

The mayor of Sacramento, former Suns guard Kevin Johnson, is reminiscing on his all-star past and one person whose presence and demeanor eclipsed the weekend.

How woeful has Vince Carter been of late? Between his decreased playing time in the fourth quarter and some awful decision making in last night’s loss to the Mavericks, he’s slipped to 9th in Justin Burning’s Player Thermometer for Week 16.

Yesterday was Marcin Gortat’s birthday and while he’s grateful to the Dallas Mavericks for tendering the offer sheet during the off-season that the Magic matched, Gortat makes it known that he’s happiest to be playing in Phoenix.

Gortat notes one striking difference between his current and former coach:

“I enjoy having fun and being out there and putting numbers (up), and I honestly don’t remember when Coach was yelling at me the last time. From a player’s standpoint, this is probably the best thing ever. The best thing ever. It’s even better than hitting a 3-pointer.”
