If you’re a transplanted Suns fan (there’s a reason they call this Planet Orange) and out of the AZ45 television market, you’re used to watching the Suns on League Pass or, if you’re unable to take advantage of the League Pass package, occasionally on national television.
I recently moved to Albany, so I’m in this boat as well. We were all excited for the Suns and Warriors to tip-off on NBA TV tonight…until word came down last week in a twitter announcement that the game would be relegated to regional coverage in favor of the Timberwolves against the Hornets.
I get it, schedule makers. Kevin Love and Chris Paul are both All-Stars, and we’re less than two weeks away from the big festivities in Los Angeles. You’re going to seize this opportunity to promote two of the biggest draws in the league, and the Hornets are one of the best teams in the league.
But just because I understand it doesn’t mean I like it. If you can’t watch the Suns play tonight, I offer you my condolences. I hope you enjoy Jonny Flynn and Luke Ridnour getting run off the court by Chris Paul and Jarret Jack.
