Here you go, man. Though I think your version might be a synthesis of two separate plays, here's the "hand inside the bucket" block from '05.

I totally agree with Hiatus.
I also didn't like Amare's sneakers, or where he put the apostrophe in his name.
Once, when I went to see the Suns play in San Antonio, my seat was so bad I could only see half the court. I blame Amare.
Then there was the time he didn't do anything about the stale hot dogs they were serving the night he played in Houston.

I remember Amare making one of the most impressive blocks I've ever seen in that 2005 series against the Spurs on Tim Duncan. Amare was at the three point line when Timmy took off and he somehow managed to make up about 6 feet in zero seconds and just willed the ball away from the basket. His hand was almost inside the hoop and with only his wrist he fended off the slam coming down with Duncan's whole arm... It was amazing - but unfortunately remained the high point in Amare's defensive career in PHX...

I have NEVER been able to find a video clip of that block and I'm starting to think I hallucinated the whole thing. Can anyone back me up on this? Does anyone else remember the play or can direct me to a video clip of it? Am I crazy??

You will learn, young Skywalker, that power forwards of Amare's caliber come few and far between.
In team history (42 years and counting), we've only had four that I can recall: Amare, Barkley, Chambers and Hawkins.

"He was a beast in all facets of the game and showed what he could be on the best of nights."

This is the best sentence of the post. "Could". The key word to describing Amar'e.

I remember when the Suns Drafted Amare. I had no idea who he was, until he dropped 20 pts and 22 rebounds on KG in his rookie year. I watched he get better and better. Then Steve Nash returned to the Suns and he became a superstar. I always thought he was our MVP until we made the western conference final without him. I realized it was Nash who was this teams MVP, and the league recognized that two seasons in a row. I watched Amare work on his offense, but he never showed any effort on the defensive end. He would take nights off, and only cared about his "STAT" line in the scoring column. He was no longer a hungry player trying to prove teams wrong for passing him up in the draft. He was out for a paycheck. Half way through this season proved that. How did he go from averaging around 7.5 rebounds a game before he was benched in Dallas, then he realized that no one will pay him the money he wants unless he shows some effort. He averaged 10 rebounds a game after that. It is all effort. The Suns were right to let him go. I will miss the highlight dunks and well that is it. I wont miss him letting Lamar Odom walk right down the middle of the lane and score 19 points and grab 19 rebounds in the playoffs, then say he got lucky. I say let the young guys play and develop into a team. We made it to the Western conference finals without Amare before. I am pretty sure we can do it again.

Are you kidding me? Why pay homage to dead weight? The SUNS regular season successes are due to Amare, but the post season disappointments always had an Amare-ness to them. From the infamous leaving the bench, to the general lack of defense and rebounding. Amare has never been mature, nor a smart enough basketball player to warrant the praise that he claims for himself nor the respect of such an article. At the end of the day, what has Amare provided Phoenix other than novelty and amusement. Its all smoke and mirrors and now he has gone to where he deserves to be...a city of flash, showyness, and posturing.

Great list Michael. One of the most depressing parts was clicking on the game STAT dropped 50 and seeing the Suns record at 26-4. Man.
