I don't understand why everybody fears the Lakers for the suns. They aren't as great as advertised and their defense isn't a really good defense. With that said they will have to try to keep pace with the suns scoring wise. The suns will spread these boys out and get what they want. Only things the suns must do is rebound and not allow so much points in the paint.

[...] At 7-1 (for the first time since the 2000-2001 season), the Suns have thus far made my preseason predictions look downright terrible. That much I can admit. But tonight’s game with the New OrleansHornets will be a very telling game. …Read Original Story: Game Thread: Hornets (3-5) at Suns (7-1) – Valley of the Suns (blog) [...]

As I walked into the Green Game and collected my various Suns free season schedule’s and my APS bike reflector I felt like we were going to win. I knew coming home, we were likely to shoot at a much higher clip than while on the road. That being said, I was shocked when we shot 75% in the first quarter to establish a 40-29 lead. Nash had 7 assists, and Amar’e had 12 points. Through the first 15 minutes of the game, the Suns had scored 51 points. The Suns dominated in the post, whether it was Amar’e, Grant, or J Rich, the pick n roll created mismatches and they were easily exploited.

However, the major takeaway was REBOUNDING. Through the first half the Suns held the Hornets to 9 rebounds. That’s right, 9!

WE HAD 8 PLAYERS IN DOUBLE DIGITS!

I am exhausted having just gotten home from the game so I will post more specifics later. Huge win for the Suns. We got an opportunity to play all of our bench players and Goran once again didn’t fail to impress draining multiple threes and leading the TEAM with 7 rebounds and rounded out his night nicely adding 14 points, and 7 assists . He at times seemed a little tired and turnover prone finishing with 6 TO’s in the game. Maybe he isn’t used to actually getting minutes.

Highlight of the Game: Looooouuuuu “Stone Hands” Amundson had a ridiculous block on Hilton Armstrong. He was nearly faked out of his shoes, then on recovered to destroy Armstrong.

Everyone looked like scorers tonight but the best thing is that Amar’e played 26 minutes, Grant played 31 and Nash had 10 assists again in only 23 minutes. This is huge for the Back to Back tomorrow night against the Lakers in L.A. They are without Andrew Bynum and Gasol so we should hopefully be able to stay with them. Although you always have to fear the Mamba.

Great Win. Big game tomorrow. MAN UP SUNS!

Hell yeah. I'll take this Suns team against pretty much anybody else in the league, including the Lakers. If they win tomorrow, or at least keep it close and the spread under five points, we'll know it's not a dream.
